In order that rampart street elements can be used to their best advantage and therefore provide the maximum amount of skate fun, the surface only needs to be designed with a skatable and flat substrate such as concrete, part for fine asphalt. In order to ensure rapid drying and the drainage of rainwater, the surface should have a gradient of 2%. Due to its elasticity and low wear and tear levels, asphalt is particularly suitable for skate parks out of doors. For all Mini, Midi and Vert-Ramps a flat surface consisting of asphalt, concrete or grass is sufficient. If a skate track is set up in the immediate vicinity of playgrounds, sports grounds or street traffic, it is advisable to provide a structural or natural partition. In such cases we recommend bushes and embankments, as these not only provide extra safety, but also reduce noise levels.
