Location Selection
In order to avoid conflicts with local residents due to nuisance from noise, skate tracks should not generally be set up in residential areas. However, so that the skate track can be protected from vandalism and damage resulting from uncontrolled aggression, it should not be installed in locations that are too remote either. Remote places are also often unacceptable to the parents of young users. Based on our experience we recommend places that are located close to schools, kindergartens, playgrounds, sports grounds or sports halls. Other locations that have proved ideal are industrial estates or mixed-use zones.

The minimum area for a skate track is calculated from the number of skate elements you wish to have. For a Mini-Ramp for example an area of 100m2 is sufficient, as only the safety zones have to be maintained and there are no other run-ups. For a street course with several different elements however an area of 300m2 is recommended. Preferably the area should be rectangular and not square due to the run-ups. This guarantees outstanding skate fun and sufficient safety levels for all users.
